Who are we?
- Impilo was established in 2003 to address the ever growing need for child protection services. Over the past 20 years this need has grown due to poverty, HIV Aids pandemic, unemployment, break-down of traditional family structures, the lack of parental and general lack of responsibility, and lack of adequate education. This is compounded by inadequate housing, influx of illegal immigrants, a culture of abandonment, and inadequate support and resources. As a result of these factors the number of orphaned, vulnerable and abandoned children has risen to crisis levels. Impilo addresses these complex factors by providing early intervention, and efficient and effective child protection services. Our vision is to provide a stable environment in which our children can shine. Permanent placement as early as possible within a family provides children with the security to develop into functional adults who are able to participate within, and contribute to, society.
